The most comfortable wear to work can be discovered when you drape this pure cotton from the land of Karaikudi. This is a typical chettinad cotton which has small checks on the body of the saree with broad border or double border that is simply exquisite and is inspired from Kanchipuram weaves. Generally chettinad cottons are very simple sarees but very elegant ones. The rapid change in the taste of consumers has led the weavers to draw inspiration from the Kanchipuram saree motifs and borders. Generally the pallu of Chettinad sarees are simple with lines unlike the granduer pallu of Kanchi cotton sarees. The pallu of this saree can be seen in the third picture. The border of the saree is a double decker with arai maadam, rudraksham and simple gopuram at the top and a jacquard border with Hamsa (annam) at regular intervals.
